Are you a self-motivated individual who has experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment? Are you looking for your next career move? If so, Georgia-Pacific is hiring an Electrical Technician for our facility in Mt. Jewett, PA and we are interested in learning more about you!

Our Electrical Technicians are responsible for installing and troubleshooting electrical equipment within the mill to support the long-term quality and production goals of the organization. This position also performs preventative maintenance to ensure electrical equipment reliability.

Our Electrical Technicians work as a team to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and work 12-hour rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits
  • Maintain, program, and troubleshoot, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and install equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
  • Adhere to and promote all safety policies to include wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
  • Perform work that includes lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least 12 hours a day

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Two (2) year technical degree or higher in industrial electrical maintenance or electrical engineering OR at least two (2) years of industrial military experience
  • Experience reading electrical schematics/mechanical drawings

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and motor controllers
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
