Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Intern will be responsible for aiding in the documentation of conveyor and sortation systems and support the standardization effort of conveyor electrical design. This position will work with other members of the MHS Electrical Engineering group to ensure drawings and engineering tools are documented as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and document the process of electrical design.
  • Develop spread sheets and tools to assist engineering design.
  • Review electrical designs to aid in documentation and development.
  • Develop CAD standards and methods to improve the delivery of electrical design with the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
  • Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks such as CAD drawing/checking.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Capable of demonstrating depth of knowledge and skill in a technical area.
  • Capable of detecting, recognizing a problem, identifying the nature of the problem.
  • Capable of demonstrating commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Capable of noticing discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information.
  • Capable of demonstrating an understanding of fundamental project, service, and

relationship management principles.
  • Limited use and/or application of technical principle, theories, and concepts.
  • Experience with CAD program(s)


Education and Experience:
  • Enrolled in a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.


Other Qualifications Desired:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Some experience with computer programming (Excel formulation and/or Excel VBA).
  • Basic knowledge of circuits and electrical fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of CAD.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, VFDs and other industrial systems a plus.


Physical Requirements:
  • General office environment with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting.
