What You Will Be Doing For this role, you would function as a Lead Electrical Engineer and will serve as a technical specialist or as a lead solar design engineer. You will develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to complex engineering problems. You will provide technical guidance or supervise engineering staff on utility-scale solar design projects. In addition, you may be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output as well as leading other engineers and interfacing directly with clients. Lastly, you will be responsible for the overall execution and quality of solar projects as a leader within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you can expect to lead a team of electrical design engineers and use existing knowledge of renewable energy design standards to oversee the following tasks:
- Creating online drawings.
- Creating collection system overall layout.
- Power cable sizing, and cable schedules.
- Electrical equipment sizing and selection.
- Experience with specifying and procuring electrical equipment (listed below).
- Understand and be able to work within a schedule and man-hours budget.
- Familiar with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Electrical equipment includes but is not limited to: MV and LV switchgear, pad mount transformer, Transformer -GSUT, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverter, battery, battery chargers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, dead front disconnect switch, medium voltage cable, low voltage cable, control cable, fiber optic cable.
- Prepares complex engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), Cable ampacity study (CYMCAP or equivalent), grounding analysis, AC-DC voltage drop calculations, VOC/ISC calcs, AC/DC Cable sizing.

What You Need for this Position - Executed at least 1-2 Solar projects
- At least 2 years of solar experience
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to the assigned engineering disciplines.
