Job Description:
Are you passionate about education and eager to make a difference? Join us as an Educator Apprenticeship Partnership Specialist! In this role, you'll execute NDE's communication and project strategy for the State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) grant and manage statewide partnerships with school districts, Educational Service Units, Educator Preparation Programs, state and federal agencies, and educator advisory groups.
The SAEF grant was built to expand access to Teacher Registered Apprenticeship Programs in Nebraska to address pressing shortages in the K-12 teacher workforce, and build internal capacity, systems, and infrastructure to implement a successful statewide Teacher Registered Apprenticeship Program model in collaboration with stakeholders.

Office Location & Schedule: This position is assigned to our office located at 84th & O St, Lincoln, NE.
Pay Rate:
$68,886.37/year
This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Essential Functions
- Provides technical assistance and guidance to program participants related to standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and reporting requirements for State Apprenticeship programs.
- Creates, reviews, and awards competitive sub-grants for Nebraska teacher-registered apprenticeship programs (T-RAP).
- Establishes and fosters strategic partnerships among state agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and business and industry partners to facilitate the exchange of information and disseminate resources, publications, and other communications.
- Assists with the Grow Your Own Nebraska program and the Nebraska Apprenticeship Model and connects other statewide apprenticeship efforts (e.g., the Explore Nebraska initiative).
- Provides outreach and information about the State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula grant.
- Conducts surveys, gathers results, and compiles information to assist with program evaluation and continuous improvement to increase program sustainability.
- Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Working Conditions and Travel:
This position requires approximately 65% of work time spent in an office environment (e.g., state offices, home offices); the remaining 35% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as partner organizations and other state agencies, secondary and postsecondary schools, and other educational entities. There is also approximately two days of overnight travel per month.
Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Master's degree in the field of education or related subject area, two years of successful preK-12 teaching or school administration experience in an approved or accredited Nebraska school, or equivalent teaching or school administration experience in another state or country, and eligible for/possess a current Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate per §79-807.
Note: A Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate per 92 NAC 21 must be possessed by the time the candidate begins employment at the Nebraska Department of Education and an active certificate maintained while in the Education Specialist position.
Substitution: Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent Master of Arts in Teaching per 92 NAC 21, and four years of teaching or school administration experience in an approved or accredited Nebraska school or equivalent teaching or school administration experience in another state or country, and eligible for/possess a current Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate per §79-807.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Education with at least three years of experience in PreK-12 teaching or administrative experience, and experience with Nebraska's apprenticeship or educator preparation systems.
