Job Summary

This position includes editing video content for KIRO newscasts and digital platforms. The News Editor must be creative and efficient while producing compelling content. Editor also assists with recording network and live feeds. Experience with Avid Media Composer preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ability to edit video, still images and audio for newscasts and web platforms on a consistent and clean basis
• Ability to edit video for posting on social media and website.
• Communicate accurate information to co-workers in a timely manner
• Ability to acquire network and live signals using Troll, routers, and Avid Capture Manager preferred
• Perform regular archiving of video
• Ability to operate LiveU equipment for feeds and live shots.

• Working knowledge of Avid editing software preferred

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 2-year college degree in related field preferred, but not required.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role in news is required.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Attention to detail and strong organization skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
