Drupal Developer

What You'll Do:

The Drupal Developer will be responsible for front and back-end development for the HelpSystems company CMS (Drupal 8) sites maintained by the Marketing Web Team and will report to the Web Development Manager. This position requires a strong understanding of Drupal development concepts such as Views, Paragraphs, Theming, and TWIG. This position would also benefit from someone able to work within commonly used technologies in the CMS space such as PHP, HTML, Gulp, and SASS. You will work within the Marketing Web group to provide input, subject matter expertise, and collaborative development to continuously improve, modernize, and integrate our rapidly going company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Drupal specialist within the Marketing Web team to design and develop new and improved functionality and branding to the HelpSystems web presence.
  • Contribute ideas and efforts towards internal projects and working as part of a team to determine the best approach for various initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other internal and external developers in a multi-dev environment (Git).
  • Modify existing functionality of website modules.
  • Work with company stakeholders and marketing specialists to continuously improve, plan, and implement new CMS focused initiatives. 
  • Test, maintain and troubleshoot existing company sites.
  • Manage and improve site performance (speed, user experience, security).

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive hands-on web development experience focusing on the Drupal CMS environment with experience with Drupal 8.
  • Experience building responsive websites using Drupal, Gulp, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and Sass highly preferred.
  • Experience working with Drupal concepts such as Views, Paragraphs, Theming, and TWIGS. 
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to less technical team members.
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes to have consistent style across platforms and browsers.
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages.
  • Knowledge of SEO coding best practices
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others, especially with remote team members through virtual channels such as Teams, Slack, email and project management tools.
