Reporting to the Director of Operations,assures that the distribution center meets customer service level agreements while meeting productivity and budget targets. Develops long and short-range operations plans to assure the distribution center can support Division/Corporate seasonal demands and parts strategies. Assures that production resources are properly managed to meet customer needs in a cost-effective manner.

Responsible for the accurate and on-time processing and shipping of 500,000+ service parts orders totaling over $350 million in annual sales to thousands of .com customers, mass accounts, 4,500+ dealers, 2000+ rental accounts, 130 distributors worldwide, and all related customer service needs (over 100,000 direct contacts per year. Directly supervise 8-10 exempt supervisors and indirectly supervise up to 200 production employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development and implementation of the capital plan to provide adequate capacity, aggressive quality improvement, and strong cost and asset control.
  • Ensure labor and equipment resources are available to meet daily targets.
  • Responsible for customer service, quality, and productivity as it pertains to meeting daily targets.
  • Define production staffing needs to meet current and future demand.
  • Assure capital equipment is fully utilized and proper operator P.M. schedules are developed and maintained.
  • Deliver company, divisional, and facility objectives and performance through effective communication that may include regular staff and warehouse group meetings.
  • Recommend and implement changes to stay competitive in all areas of quality, cost, product availability, inventory control, customer service and employee relations.
  • Coach and model a problem-solving culture; to improve processes; identify and address root cause issues.
  • Administer the labor agreement in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Utilize Lean principles, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Carry out production plans to meet the required schedule at a satisfactory cost level (includes cost center, budget, manpower plans, systems developments, and asset management).
  • Provide ongoing analysis of distribution center operating results and corrective action to meet or exceed planned performance levels of quality, expense, efficiency, and inventory control.

SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or related field, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of management experience (distribution or manufacturing)
  • Proven ability to effectively lead teams through change in a fast-paced environment/within an organization that values logistics and distribution as a strategic advantage
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels across the organization
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness
  • Experience in a unionized environment desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, basic understanding of SAP WMS
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
