The Director, Sales, CMD leads and drives overall growth for the End User Sales, Commercial Machines Division (CMD) segment of the Business Machines Group (BMG) business, achieving the designated sales quota for the End User sales for the region. This position leads the region and decides the overall sales
and support plan(s) for the team, determining measurable sales activities that establish value and gain share. The Director coaches, builds, and mentors the assigned sales team, motivating behaviors that drive further sales and identifying areas for growth and improvement for each team member. This
position influences key stakeholders across internal teams, namely the marketing and sales organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities

CMD Sales Team Leadership

  • Understand business trends and the competitive landscape, including but not limited to: Managed Print Services (MPS), Solutions, A3, A4, and Service
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to make strategic sales decisions that drive the business.
  • Coach, guide, mentor, motivate, and develop the skills of the sales team* Establish sales quotas, compensation plans, and internal organizational strategy
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and strategic account planning sessions in conjunction with internal departments
  • Develop executive level relationships with key individuals in sales, purchasing, and marketing
  • Communicate with marketing, engineering, and business development teams to discuss vertical solutions and provide feedback on customer needs, workflows, and applications


Account Management

  • Acquire new customers with best practice integrations and team selling
  • Identify top current end-users in the territory; engage regularly with these customers to drive solid relationships, continue current customer sales, and add critical new net sales
  • Participate in relevant market events, including but not limited to trade shows, technology seminars, and association meetings
  • Coordinate team selling activities to ensure utilization of all available resources in prospecting/account management activities* Travel with sales team to observe and mentor in live customer meetings


Reporting & Administrative Requirements

  • Provide a monthly report of team sales progress, outlining events of the
  • month and keeping all details updated in Customer Relationship
  • Management (CRM) system weekly
  • Manage and keep an updated calendar at least 90 days in advance
  • Ensure team members' calendars are also updated
  • Review all sales information from the company CRM, detailing specific sales opportunities and all relevant activity
  • Analyze and strategize on report findings with management chain, continually monitoring and adjusting sales strategy as needed


Forecasting/Supply Chain Management

  • Manage all aspects of forecasting, including leadership of weekly forecast calls and sales opportunity reviews with the team
  • Work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate product forecasts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years A combination of relevant experience in the following areas:

Experience managing a large, national sales function, across multiple markets, within the office supplies/consumer electronics industry

Experience developing and executing on robust sales strategies that drive sales
Experience meeting and exceeding multi-million sales targets

  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Salesforce preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets within a direct selling organization and/or indirect operation
  • Ability to lead a sales function/region and set strategic direction
  • Time management skills and ability to plan ahead
  • Excellent negotiation & influence skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written
  • Knowledge of B2B Sales environment
  • Knowledge of Managed Print Service (MPS) environment
  • Experience with Solution Sales
