Job Description Summary:
As a Director on Venmo's Small Business team - known internally as App-Powered Commerce - you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution to make Venmo a leading partner for small sellers to accept payments, manage, and grow their businesses. Our goal is to leverage Venmo's social foundation to create products that will inspire and delight our millions of buyers and sellers - creating experiences that go well beyond simply payments to partnering for growth and driving community.

Venmo has millions of customers and we want to make their commerce experiences better every day.

We want you to lead Venmo's App-Powered Commerce Product team to create delightful customer experiences for our users in the in-person and online commerce space. We're looking for a product leader and visionary, who is also not afraid to roll up their sleeves, to translate the needs of our customers into a comprehensive strategy and long-term product roadmap.

In this role, you will lead a team of established product managers to conduct discovery for newonline and in-person commerceproductssuch as Venmo Business Profiles and Goods & Services, work with engineering and design to build new products, and lead A/B tests to optimize existing product flows. You will be the point person for App-Powered Commerce, balancing customer desires, business requirements, legal/compliance, growth and monetization considerations.

This is a leadership position, and in addition to being an excellent product manager, you will be asked to communicate and tell compelling narratives to executives, anticipate needs and challenges well before they arise, win buy-in from disparate stakeholders, lead across a matrixed global organization that contains groups outside of Venmo, and be a first-rate people manager who has a track record of developing talent.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 10 years as a Product Manager at a top tech or financial services firm
  • Experience building product strategies and long-term roadmaps
  • Team management experience, and track record delivering results across cross-functional teams
  • Empathetic to the end user and experience building products that delight
  • Commercial training and knowledge to weigh economic benefits to products and features
  • Ability to analyze, quantify, and articulate trade-offs of what we're building
  • Excellent communication skills - oral presentations, written, and powerpoint - with a proven ability to persuade through data and storytelling; must be able to flex messaging and presentation delivery based on audiences which could include C-suite execs
  • Familiarity with FinTech products and concepts
  • Deep attention to detail; desire to collaborate on new processes for efficiency
  • Self-motivated to drive the products forward while balancing different stakeholders and considerations including economic, UX, and PayPal Inc. priorities
  • Ability to quickly build consensus, collaborate cross-functionally, and serve as a leader throughout Venmo and PayPal
