Allegheny College, a small selective national liberal arts college, invites applications for the position of Director of the Counseling and Personal Development Center. The position is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Associate Dean for Community Standards and Wellness. The Office of Counseling and Personal Development administers brief counseling services to actively enrolled students; as well as provides crisis intervention, and educational programming regarding student mental health.
This position requires leadership and clinical duties in high-paced mental health service organization in higher education. The Counseling and Personal Development Center (CPDC) delivers holistic mental health services to the Allegheny College student campus community through brief individual and group counseling, crisis support, outreach programming, consultation, and coordination of care for mild-moderate mental health and personal development concerns. The Director will be responsible for day-to-day and long-term decision-making, vision and mission of the center, strategic planning, budget management, supervision and management of employees, and overall functioning of the CPDC. This individual provides professional expertise and consultation across Student Life and the larger campus community regarding trends in mental health affecting students. This individual is responsible for being the primary back-up for 24/7 crisis services through Protocol and must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
