The Opportunity
Levy Convention Centers is thrilled to be the food & beverage partner at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan! GREAT TEAMS NEED GREAT TALENT! We are seeking a talent for Director of Catering Sales and Marketing at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Mission
As a Levy Director of Catering Sales and Marketing you will be responsible for achieving "The Levy Difference" with operating standards that will exceed guests' expectations through strong leadership and management of staff and by living our business philosophy

Major Areas of Responsibility
All major areas of responsibility are achieved through the Core Signature Guidelines.

Family (Team)

* Hires, trains, develops and motivates sales personnel to deliver "The Levy Difference"
* Able to manage and lead the catering sales team. The Sales Team will report to this position
* Develops and maintains strong relationships with operating departments to encourage client satisfaction and feedback of services provided to clients
* Generates new business opportunities and organic growth by developing strategic relationships and driving customer satisfaction
* Promotes a positive work environment, maximizing productivity and morale
* Collaborates with multiple entities (building/bureau) to lead and direct the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives and marketing plans that are venue and market appropriate
* Actively analyzes sales and industry market trends and adjust the sales and marketing model as appropriate
* Partners with the Center's Sales and Marketing team and serve as the destination's food service brand ambassador
* Strong ability to present and communicate with partner clients
* Can identify lucrative sales targets and participate in local and national networking and outreach
* Seeks out and coordinates opportunities for Levy Restaurants representation at business, community and social organizations through promotional activities, memberships

Passionate (Operations)

* Ensures all catering services exceed customer expectations
* Works closely with the General Manager to ensure the operation exceeds the expectations around the brand
* Builds strong, long term relationships with key customers
* Directs the overall communication efforts of the department to ensure internal guest understanding and compliance and external guest's expectation of service
* Catering Sales gathers feedback from clients or planners to continually enhance services
* Continues to build sales through new relationships and repeat business
* Develops and executes marketing programs to drive business in accordance with Core Signatures
* Provides tracking and analysis of sales initiatives
* Ensures administrative compliance to Core Signatures
* Maintains a strong relationship with the client during the coordination, execution and final payment and evaluation stages of services

Restaurateur (Business/Financials)

* Assures the continual process of revenue development by pro-actively managing all elements of the sales process from pipeline to post-event follow-up.
* Ability to analyze sales trends, client needs and wants and up and coming innovation
* Promotes the sale of profitable Levy services
* Provides annual, monthly and twelve-month forecasts of expected business activity
* Completes competitive analysis of similar services in accordance with Core Signatures

Job Requirements

* 7 - 10 years of previous catering experience preferred in a convention center or similar business including hotel or off premise catering operation

* English reading, writing, math and computer skills required

* Must be able to stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking including stairs

* May be required to perform diverse physical tasks

* Possible hazards include, but are not limited to slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains

* Ability to experience and evaluate services in accordance with Levy standards

* Ability to taste and evaluate food products

* Stamina to work 60 hours or more per week

* Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates

* Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts
