HOURS: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Director of Finance will be a member of the TCC Foundation and report directly to the Vice President. The Director will provide administrative management and leadership in the strategic investment, asset management, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the TCC Foundation.

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluates economic market and industry trends. Advises management on investment matters and financial policies, strategies and procedures. Serve as principal financial officer for the TCC Foundation's Major Gift, Annual Giving and Planned Giving campaigns. Manages the day-to-day activities of the endowed and non-endowed investment programs by implementing and maintaining Foundation investment policies and procedures, and makes investment policy and procedure recommendations. Manages the financial programs and supporting information systems of the Foundation, to include budgeting, receipt of revenue, expenditure of funds, and conservation of assets. Will oversee the endowment accounting process to ensure that investment earnings and spending allocations are submitted correctly and promptly, prepare and present the annual endowment reports to donors and the Board. Coordinates campus wide training for Business Office processes.

  • Ensure maintenance of effective internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements. Prepares financial statements and ensures their accuracy and timeliness. Assists in resolving accounting and financial problems and/or issues. Ensures complete and up-to-date operating procedures for all accounting and financial controls. Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow projections. Reviews all receipts and disbursements, ascertains correct account distribution and ensuring all support documentation is accurate and in order. Assists in preparing special cost studies as required. Manages the Foundation's annual financial audit with its CPA's, including required filings. Invests and manages unrestricted and non-endowed assets of the Foundation. Assists with researching and resolving student-related inquires.

  • Supports TCC Foundation Planned Giving programs, to include facilitation of direct gifts, bequests, annuities, trusts and the transfer of investment assets and real property. Operates and maintains Planned Giving Software programs to record and manage planned gifts.

  • Provides strategic oversight to the TCC Foundation Finance and Investment Committee, to include policy development and recommendations, hiring and coordination/communication with outside investment consultants, investment custodians, and investment managers. Assists the Executive Director in staffing TCC Foundation Board of Directors Committees; works with committee chairs on organizational activities and prepares and delivers budget and financial reports to the Board and Committees. Prepares and submits required financial reports to state and federal agencies as required. Administers financial records for TCC Foundation scholarship and matching funds programs. Ensures compliance with any-and-all financial and contract reporting requirements for private or public funding, licensing, or regulatory agencies. Staffs the Budget and Finance Committee of the Board as needed. Oversees risk management for the Foundation. Works with insurance brokers to obtain and maintain adequate insurance coverage. Recommends policies and procedures related to the Business Office.

MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting and four years related accounting experience. Licensure as CPA will substitute for two years of experience.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Knowledge of TCC policies and procedures. Knowledge of mainframe applications, spreadsheet and word processing; MIP or related non-profit accounting software. Knowledge of non-profit fund accounting principles and standards. Knowledge of TCC Foundation Board policies and procedures. Knowledge of non-profit organizations. Knowledge of financial management and investments. Knowledge of planned giving techniques. Ability to evaluate the potential of various types of planned gifts to the Foundation. Ability to work independently. Ability to exercise discretion and use independent judgment. Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks, which are complex in nature. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to compile and analyze data. Ability to work under deadlines. Ability to work with statistical and financial data providing reporting as required. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to operate a personal computer and 10-key calculator. Ability to follow approved business practices and procedures of the College. Ability to represent the Foundation in a positive, professional manner at various functions. Skills in effective interpersonal communications. Skilled in use of personal computer software including, but not limited to, spreadsheet, database, word processing, and proprietary accounting and financial planning software. Skilled in communicating with a degree of sophistication required to successfully interact with donors, their advisors, as well as community leaders, board members, and the professional financial community.
