Speech Pathology & Audiology: Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Operations for the Miami University Speech and Hearing Clinic. The clinic will be moving into a new, state-of-the-art facility which will be opening in Summer of 2023. This 12-month, unclassified (salaried) position begins June 1, 2023.

The Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Operations will fulfill:

Administrative responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, monitor, and participate in training related to Miami University policies and procedures for overall clinical operations;
  • Develop and maintain clinic budget (Comply with 3rd party insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and educating staff and clinical instructors as necessary);
  • Provide regular financial and clinical reports to Department chair and to clinic committee;
  • Facilitate development and implementation of strategic plan to advance short and long-term clinical goals;
  • Lead ongoing quality assurance training activities related to clinical care;
  • Directly supervise student workers and provide direction to clinic and billing staff;
  • Manage client care and documentation per related policies and protocols; Ensure all client services comply with federal, state and local regulatory requirements and with accepted professional standards.

Clinical Education:

  • Provide evidence-based clinical instruction and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students in a university-based, clinic;
  • Lead processes for assessing student performance/progress regarding knowledge and skills for clinical practice;
  • Mentor, evaluate, and serve as a resource liaison for clinical educators;
  • Monitor and implement changes in national certification and State of Ohio license requirements;
  • Plan and schedule clinical assignments for first- and second-year students and clinical instructors.

Teaching responsibilities:

* Teach in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum (professional and clinical seminars).

Required: Master's, Clinical Doctorate (SLP-D) or Doctorate (PhD or EdD) in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university, minimum of 8 years clinical experience, minimum of 2 years of clinical supervision of students, eligible for or holds current licensure with the Ohio Board of Speech and Hearing Professionals, current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Consideration may be given to candidates with 4 years of clinical supervision of students, practice management experience.
