Job Overview:

Director, Automotive Subsystems Go-to-market (GTM) - San Jose, CA, USA

The automotive market is going through a major transition and rapidly turning into a technology led industry. As more processing power and compute gets integrated into vehicles, there is a need to reevaluate and up-level the sophistication and complexity of what Arm offers to this market. To led this activity, we are now looking for a Director, Automotive Subsystems Go-to-market. This is a broad, high profile role driving strategy, internal alignment, commercial engagement and, ultimately, commercial and market success.

This position will develop an understanding of the trends across all segments of automotive - from the latest microcontrollers to sophisticated autonomous systems. It will then work internally to disseminate this knowledge, path find and lead in developing strategies to successfully engage with the market around susbsystems and drive those strategies ultimately resulting in improves revenue and mind share across the industry.

This position is within the dedicated Automotive Line-of-Business (LoB) and reports to the VP Automotive GTM.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with automotive OEMs, autonomous vehicle companies, Tier 1s, semiconductor companies and the software ecosystem to understand the key needs and trends of the market
  • Formulate this information into coherent market intelligence and becoming the internal authority/evangelist for this area
  • Work across the product management, software and other technology groups to build strategies for Arm in automotive subsystems
  • Lead in the commercial framing, business justification and modelling of the automotive subsystem offerings
  • Work closely with product management to define Arm's automotive subsystem roadmap
  • Lead outbound positioning, messaging and collateral for automotive subsystems. Includes direct external evangelism in the press and at events
  • Define go-to-market plans and lead the ongoing engagement with the market. Support sales in understanding the value of Arm subsystems, promoting them and, ultimately, closing commercial deals
Required Skills and Experience :

This is a broad, high profile role that will require a very a very rounded and experienced person across market strategies, commercial engagement and outbound marketing. It would be expected that the successful person would be able to demonstrate 10+ years in commercial and market strategy type roles with experience of driving at least two (ideally three plus) new product lines into the market or into new markets

  • 10+ years in commercial leadership and/or strategic marketing roles
  • Experience driving 3+ new products lines into the market or into new markets
  • 5+ years of semiconductor experience
  • Strategic approach, able to comprehend sophisticated/vague situations and produce a clear vision and direction
  • Experience with building business plans, commercial justifications, and go-to-market strategies
  • Consistent track record in establishing strategic relationships with external organizations at senior and exec levels
  • Experience in leading professionals in an authentic, clear and motivational way
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to communicate and present, both internally and externally, to all levels, from CEOs to engineers
  • Familiarity with the automotive industry not essential but a strong positive
  • Proactive teammate with excellent networking and influencing skills
  • Self-motivated and adept at planning, prioritization and organization

From: $243,100

To: $328,900
