Job Summary

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA, has an opening for a qualified PhD, MD, DO, or DPM professional trained in Clinical Microbiology for the position of Director, Microbiology/Virology. The position is eligible for a faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine.

Qualifications

Experience:

≥1 year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of bacteriology.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • MD, DO, DPM: Licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in Pennsylvania

  • -and-

    Certified in clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology or the American osteopathic Board of Pathology or possess qualifications that are equivalent to those required for such certification

    -or-

  • PhD: Doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution

  • -and-

    Accredited fellowship training in Clinical Microbiology with board certification/eligibility in Clinical Microbiology from the American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM)
