Job Description

This position exists to identify, evaluate and consummate content acquisition and licensor alliances and further enhance existing licensor relationships.
At this position, you will create and execute LNRS' Emerging and Alternative Data strategy by identifying, prioritizing and acquiring external sources of data in support of the business unit's strategic direction, revenue growth, and initiatives and providing ongoing management of complex and critical vendor relationships ensuring data quality and utilization objectives are achieved. Areas of focus would be digital identity, phone intelligence and other emerging data markets.

Job Function:

Lead all Content Acquisition efforts:

  • Partner with senior internal stakeholders to fully understand business strategy and identify data requirements in support of new and existing market offerings.
  • Maintain holistic understanding of existing data assets and work with senior leaders to drive utilization across the business.
  • Develop and prioritize data sourcing strategy to address most critical and complex data requirements with focus on existing and emerging data ecosystems.
  • Acquire required data via execution of data acquisition process, including vendor diligence, data evaluation, complex negotiations and multifaceted contracts.
  • Proactively identify new data from new and existing suppliers and socialize, educate, and inform verticals and product management of potential value.
  • Establish annual budget for data and manage spend on existing and new sources of data per budget, prepare and review with senior stakeholders monthly reports demonstrating achievement of objectives, highlighting risk and outlining revised plans


Manage Partnerships
  • Manage ongoing quality and performance of data, take corrective action with partners and escalate amongst senior levels as necessary.
  • Leverage relationships in support of expanding market offerings through increased knowledge and awareness of data assets.
  • Lead execution of license renewals/amendments/renegotiations:
  • Coordinate different functional areas across Risk as appropriate
  • Lead licensing efforts to deliver best possible business terms for new and existing content (includes cost, use rights, timely delivery of key content, etc)
  • Ensure favorable terms for LN while not compromising competitive advantages
  • Fully leverage strategic relationships to maximize data; establish and maintain proper balance-of-trade with strategic partners.


Expertise
  • Can evidence deep domain expertise related to emerging and alternative data ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with digital identity, behavioral biometric and phone intelligence data
  • Proven success locating, establishing and managing highly complex, large external partner relationships
  • Proven success interacting, influencing and working with senior level leadership across multiple functional areas; both internal and external.
  • Can evidence a strong commercial focus along with a sound understanding of data and quantitative evaluation principles and financial analysis acumen
  • Has built successful working relationships and partnerships with senior business leaders; demonstrated expertise, commitment and follow-through
  • Performs well in high pressure environment, balancing competing priorities with strong commitment to delivering results


Qualifications:
  • BA Degree
  • Minimum 10+ years work experience in data management and acquisition, including relationship management, business development and contract negotiations
  • Diplomacy, strong business judgment in difficult situations
  • Broad knowledge and experience in developing business relationships
  • Financial modeling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and analysis capabilities
  • Travel up to 30% (after COVID restrictions are lifted)
