You're a passionate, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who's looking for an opportunity to have an impact on some of the most well-known companies in the world. This integral member of the Client Development team will report directly to the President of our SupplyTrack team.

The SupplyTrack business at NPD works with some of the largest food manufacturers and broadline foodservice distributors in the United States. Are you passionate about helping clients understand the trends and dynamics of the foodservice industry? Our SupplyTrack team is seeking a Director, Client Development who is responsible for building relationships with our foodservice distributor clients, providing them with value-added insights and driving revenue and product usage within assigned accounts.

This position can be based in Rosemont or Chicago, IL offices.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Build strategic relationships with senior level client contacts to develop strategic business insights regarding the clients' most important business issues/needs, both short and long-term.
  • Understand the dynamics of each client's organization and penetrate the account base to identify applications for NPD products and services.
  • Demonstrate usage of B2B sales data to strategically partner with distributor partners to help them grow their business and gain market share.
  • Demonstrate a strong comprehension of category management processes to aid clients in creating their own internal processes as well working collaboratively with their supplier partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and writing ability - able to distill diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories in all deliverables. Provide recommendations to client leadership teams and category management teams, on matters such as merchandising/assortment planning, supplier performance, customer penetration opportunities, and regional business opportunities.
  • Develop analytic and communication skill sets for direct reports as well as work collaboratively with SupplyTrack leadership team to deliver thought leadership across our services and client deliverables.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of experience within client services, account management or category management within the CPG food or general merchandise industries.
  • Related experience in foodservice a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with B2B sales and consumer data to generate analyses. Ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful conclusions, insights, and recommendations, as well as present that information in the appropriate communication vehicle.
  • Deep understanding of how category management processes can be used to identify business-building opportunities for clients.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive client account plans; understand the client's organization; understand their internal objectives and business issues; develop knowledge of the industry they compete in, and provide day-to-day tactical support.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of direct reports.
  • Strong presentation skills with a high comfort level presenting to large groups and senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage business and relationships across multiple accounts.
  • Proven history of meeting and exceeding account goals, including revenue objectives.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Travel typically 20-40%.
