Diesel Mechanic

Bring your Diesel Mechanic experience to AAA Washington!

We have an immediate opening for a mechanic to service and retrofit our line of tow trucks. Offering a flexible schedule with the ability to work five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts!

Offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus with 50% paid at 30 days of employment and 50% paid at 90 days of employment!

All mechanic tools provided! AAA Washington provides all Fleet Mechanics with the necessary tools to work in this role - no need to provide your own.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Independently assess needs for and performs maintenance and repairs on medium-duty diesel vehicles.

Independently diagnose mechanical and other malfunctions of diesel vehicles and perform vehicle repairs including engine, hydraulics, transmissions, and electric systems.

Design and execute upfitting to meet desired end state, including metal design, fabrication, electrical wiring, cameras, toolboxes, lights, wrap, etc. to a vehicle.

Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and repairs, including input into fleet software programs.

Oversee disposal of hazardous materials.

Responsible for parts inventory, including ordering, tracking, and stocking.

Independently identify maintenance and vehicle operational concerns and communicates solutions to fleet management.

WHO YOU ARE

Possess a high school diploma or GED

Have 3+ years' experience performing automotive mechanical repairs and diagnostics with medium-duty diesel trucks, including hydraulics and electrical systems

Ability to be able to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements test

Hold a valid driver license

Technical or trade school certification preferred

Previous experience designing and fabricating/welding custom builds preferred

Previous experience with hydraulic and electric work on a fleet of heavy-duty vehicles preferred

Ability to work in a physical environment typical of a standard mechanic shop space. It requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. May work around moving objects or vehicles and will need to be aware of surroundings for personal safety.

SALARY RANGE

Target hiring salary range is $31.10 to $39.57 and offer rate is based on relevant experience

Opportunity for shift differential earnings of an additional 12% - 20% for working outside normal business hours

Opportunity for an annual companywide discretionary incentive based on company performance
