DNV North America is seeking a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Management Leader to join our team. This position will report directly to the Country Chair for North America.

This position can be remote from anywhere in the Continental U.S.

What You'll do

The DEI Leader's primary role for North America, in alignment with overall corporate DEI strategies, is to create and lead programs, initiatives, and projects that promote a workplace culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring it is woven into practices, behaviors, and systems; and reflected throughout the organization in support of our purpose: "safeguard life, property and the environment".

  • Leverage data and organizational assessment to identify opportunities for growth, promote adoption of inclusive practices, establish relevant metrics, and communicate insights and recommendations to Regional Leadership.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and initiatives in alignment with corporate global strategies.
  • Promote NA organizational and business unit awareness, commitment to and accountability for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and work collaboratively on internal and external communications strategies that enrich DNV's culture and promote engagement.
  • Provide direction, subject area expertise, education and training related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion topics to develop DE&I capability within the organization.
  • Establish mechanisms to measure, track, analyze, and communicate the effectiveness of DEI initiatives, while identifying opportunities for further progress.
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources to integrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into employee recruitment, performance management, professional development, promotions and or career advancement, and retention strategies.
  • Research current and future DE&I needs and trends, shaping business and competency development.
  • Represent DNV overall through internal speaking events, public panels, and blogging.
  • Manage multiple projects, supervise, and drive successful outcomes using project management best practices.
  • Work in partnership with other functional areas to foster a comprehensive corporate approach to DE&I by recommending approaches to integrate DE&I into the company's daily operating environment and business operations. Assures the alignment and integration of these approaches with business and human resource strategies. Identify and leverage organizational intersections between DE&I and all organizational initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a communications plan that keeps management and employees informed of progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Advises on external public image including speaking requests, award nominations, advertising, and sponsorships.
  • Assist with the alignment of Supplier Diversity initiatives with overall targets.
  • Lead the DE&I Program Office locally and provide advice and counsel to other areas of the DE&I infrastructure including but not limited to the Steering Committee and Business Resource Groups.
  • Propose and support the implementation of policies and procedures that support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Position Qualifications

What is Required

  • Bachelor's degree; Preferred Master's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration/Organizational Development, or closely related field
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience working within medium/large organizations in North America
  • 3+ years of experience working in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) experience (full-time experience preferred, part-time experience will be considered)
  • Program management and project management experience
  • Preferred 3+ years of experience leading diverse teams and developing talent
  • Direct experience integrating, leading, and facilitating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives with a demonstrated return on investment
  • Shows a committed and proactive approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to own personal development in this area
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills to guide, influence and motivate others
  • Clear understanding of organizational dynamics and proficiency with project management skills and deployment of programs and initiatives
  • Strong awareness of current trends, policies and legislation related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in the translation of vision into action and accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $160,000-$250,000.
