About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to identify, plan, develop and implement a variety of programs/projects by working closely with the DEI and Talent Management teams as well as, business partners to provide project support.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Consultant will provide leadership and operational expertise to help advance the DEI values and goals of the organization. The DEI Consultant will identify, plan, develop and implement a variety of programs/projects by working closely with the DEI and Talent Management teams as well as, business partners to provide project support. The DEI Consultant will lead assigned projects, support employee resource groups (ERGs), and help drive inclusion and belonging for a national organization of 4,000+ team members.

Position may be located in St Louis or Kansas City.

Essential Functions

  • Review survey data, exit interviews and feedback to identify DEI focus areas
  • Assist with the designing, planning and execution of DEI/ERG programs and initiatives, including workshops, trainings, meetings, external speakers, and community volunteer engagements
  • Organize and facilitate engaging in-person and virtual learning experiences that are inclusive of various learning styles
  • Lead project planning efforts, assist with change management to ensure DEI strategic initiatives are implemented smoothly
  • Define and track key success metrics for programming and initiatives
  • Assist with DEI content creation for internal and external communications, and the development of training support materials, presentations and maintenance to DEI internal shared sites
  • Develop creative presentations/communications that achieve maximum impact
  • Manage events budget, using analysis to strategically allocate funds to ERG events and charitable sponsorships
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to deliver on DEI projects
  • Provide primary administrative and logistical support for DEI team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Strong knowledge of DEI, including best practices
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to think strategically, innovatively, and develop tactical execution plans to drive success
  • Ability to indirectly influence and successfully lead initiatives, projects and activities that support departmental and organizational goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a strong executive presence
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure, remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Zoom and virtual collaboration tools

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 3+ years of experience building and/or leading Employee Resource Groups and driving DEI strategy required
  • 3+ years experience planning and executing projects and or organization wide events from start to finish required
