Meta is seeking a Data Architect to join the Client Data Services (CDS) team supporting the Product and Services Operations (PSO) organization. The Client Data Services team strives to make Facebook's data ecosystem and infrastructure accurate, reliable, complete, and ingestible through business-driven initiatives and programs. The Data Management team is responsible for implementing proactive programs and solutions designed to improve and maintain Client data quality. This data supports accurate and complete advertiser, agency and supporting sales team attribution and Client/customer identity. Our team follows data management industry-standard practices and provides a well-balanced, unbiased perspective to help teams solve data problems at scale.Overview: As a member of the CDS Data Management team, the Data Architect, will be an important link between business users, engineering, and other contributors and point of contact for building a robust solution with the single goal of long-term data architecture which solves for data quality issues. The Architect function is detail intensive, requiring the accurate capture of source data and assessment of current data structure, pipelines, and infrastructure. Data Architect will go deep on learning Meta's data environment and infrastructure to strategize, leverage data management expertise and influence solutions, data quality to drive cross-team projects and data roadmap. They work horizontally to create long-term value for Meta by promoting the right data solutions for productivity, stability, and growth for the business.A successful candidate will be self-motivated, operationally rigorous with a high tolerance for nuance and ambiguity, and comfortable with frequent changes. They have a strong data management background, and experience working with business and technical teams. They can influence without authority and have extraordinary collaboration skills to be able to work across teams and time zones. This candidate will require experience in dealing with all levels of management in a highly complex organizational dynamic requiring adaptability, boldness, and creative forward thinking.

Data Architect Responsibilities:

  • Work with implementation teams from concept to operations, providing deep technical subject matter expertise for successfully deploying large-scale data solutions in the enterprise, using modern data/analytics technologies
  • Perform comprehensive deep dive analysis to identify key areas of improvements in client data landscape and provide data driven solutions to improve overall quality of data
  • Oversees the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality
  • Conducts research, investigations and assists in the development of information and data architecture roadmaps
  • Support the roll out of an enterprise Master Data Management process, with a focus on the improvement of data quality and the protection of critical data


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exposure to tools used to support data management, specifically Master Data Management and metadata management, data profiling, and data quality
  • Experience interpreting, troubleshooting, and understanding computer programming languages (ex., Python, Java) or demonstrates effective aptitude to learn additional coding languages
  • Proven communication skills
  • Experience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and results
  • Experience with SQL or equivalent database querying language
  • Experience in data/information architecture, system development, business analysis or a related IT field
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, including MySQL, and large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science/Computer Science/Mathematics/Analytics or equivalent in a related field
  • Analytical skills with the experience identifying, quantifying, and effectively raising business risks associated with data quality or non-compliance
  • 8+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a technical and analytical role
  • Understanding of databases and data structures
