The Data Analyst 2 coordinates with other analytics, IT and business areas across the organization to ensure work is completed with insights from knowledge SMEs. The Data Analyst 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

TheData Analyst2:

  • Leverages advanced knowledge of data, modeling, optimization, and tools.
  • Applies disciplined analytics to predict behavior and optimize programs and products to maximize revenue growth.
  • Utilizes advanced or predictive modeling to develop, test, and validate cases that improve the outcomes and quality of the programs we offer.
  • Contributes to more innovative approaches to financial models as it builds knowledge of the business context in which it operates.
  • Understands and analyzes complex dataand articulatesresultsto various units within the company, at the appropriate level.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
    Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.

Humana is seeking anData Analyst2 in Pharmacy Analytics and Consulting to support the Medical Modeling and Specialty Strategies team in short-term and long-term analysis and planning. In this role, you will support the development, implementation, financial tracking, and management ofspecialty toolsand programs as well as support our business partners with ad hoc analyses to support their goals.

Specific role responsibilities will include:

  • Supports pharmacy business partners responsible for business development in the specialty pharmacy and pharmacy medical benefits space with appropriate analytics needed to drive businessstrategy
  • Works with leader and business partners to provide methodology and development of assumptions forrequests
  • Builds and maintains analytics tools to ensure business partners can monitor emergingexperience
  • Utilizes data to create insightful and actionable businessinformation
  • Develops and maintains rapport with business partners to create the appropriate data/analysis to meet theirneeds
  • Applies appropriate methodologies to project the financial impact of potential medical and pharmacy strategies which involve moderately complex to complexissues
  • Communicates high level summary results to business partners andleadership
  • Completes individual projects, as well as other projects in a dynamic and flexible team environment, with limitedoversight
  • Ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls for data used in business partnerrequests
  • Collaborates with team members to apply best practices in coding for medical and pharmacy data requests, and
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of allprocesses

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics (or other quantitative focus)
  • 2 - 5 years of data analysis experience
  • Demonstrated experience with data mining, modeling techniques and using data to drive business outcomes anddecisions
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAS and/or SQL programming
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools (Tableau / Power BI)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to articulate and present findings and insights to senior leadership
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumerexperiences
Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Knowledge of Specialty drugs and/or medical claims
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS and/or SQL programming
  • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced knowledge ofPower BI and / or Tableau
