Job Purpose

Lead Demand Planning activities throughout the defined region to ensure a two-to-three (2-3) year demand forecast.

Key Accountabilities

  • Acts as key interface between Commercial teams and Supply Chain
  • Initiate, develop and lead projects to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with country and/or regional business managers as well as cluster supply chain teams both inside and outside of region to ensure undisrupted supply to customers and markets
  • Ensure creation of high-quality demand plans and adequate forecasting accuracy
  • Assist in deployment of all regional Demand Planning initiatives
  • Assist in deployment of the Integrated Business Planning process, coordinating program and resource availability, in particular driving the regional Demand Management review
  • Actively participate in ALPS Plan initiatives to drive Integrated Business Planning and Demand Planning processes to improve forecasting accuracy. Chooses the most adapted forecasting model per product group and customer group
  • Provide feedback to business or market logistics on planning demands and requirements. Must be able to communicate to regional supply chain expert functions or Hub/Cluster Managers
  • Identifies customer segmentation and replenishment models including agreeing required service levels
  • Leads investigations into complaints related to customer satisfaction
  • Translates the Sales and Marketing plans into a Sales Demand Plan in the forecasting system
  • Build monthly forecast using statistical tools and additional market information, concentrating on the 4 - 36 months' timeframe
  • Responsible for master data required to perform statistical forecasting (e.g. corrected history)
  • Identify gaps between target and unconstrained demand plan
  • Follow up the forecast accuracy and bias in order to get the required target. Supports system improvements
  • Ensure forecasts uploaded to enable Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to execute correctly
  • Lead Demand Planners servicing the commercial units

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, or Business Administration
  • 7 years' experience in Demand Planning /Demand Management
  • Strong analytical aptitude and orientation with the ability to gather, manipulate, interpret and communicate data in a clear and professional manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application with focus on tools for data management and communication. Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, ORACLE, or JDA
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with ability to effectively interface and influence stakeholders cross-functionally in a matrix organization
  • Possess the business acumen to understand requirements from internal and external customer and act upon them
  • Must be able to manage stakeholders in various functions and levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate different requirements and priorities to ensure customer satisfaction and solid end-to-end delivery
  • Fluent in English
  • APICS Certified within the last two years
