About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Corporate Counsel to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role is responsible for drafting and reviewing business agreements relating to the purchase and sale of goods and services according to Company policies and contracting guidelines, and for providing timely, actionable advice to internal clients. The incumbent provides legal guidance on a wide range of commercial matters, and is accountable for promoting company growth and profits by building and leveraging strong relationships, providing legal advice that appropriately manage risk, and proactively identifying and addressing legal issues. The Corporate Counsel's focus is on service to internal and external customers, practical solutions, and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and service agreements related to the Company's U.S. business (sell-side and buy-side).
• Highly responsive to legal requests, with excellent communication about timelines, deliverables, and circumstances of each transaction.
• Partner with internal customers while maintaining an overriding commitment to conformity with Company policies, contracting guidelines, and established processes.
• Collaborate with the General Counsel and other Legal Team members in the development and refinement of policies, compliance programs, training programs, templates, and processes to improve efficiency, sophistication, and scalability in support of rapid Company growth.
• Exercise sound judgment, escalating matters to the General Counsel as appropriate and providing reports as requested.
• Build and then maintain an understanding of the manufacturing industry and the laws that affect the Company, with a focus on compliance and commercial law.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

• J.D. degree required, with active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

Knowledge / training:

• Contract drafting and review (with emphasis on commercial law).

Experience:

• 3 years of relevant experience.
