Job Description

Our Customer Experience Design group is seeking a passionate and talented Conversational Design Lead to create customer-facing experiences across multiple brands and digital platforms. Our work touches millions of lives across web, mobile, wearable, vehicle, and conversational interfaces.

As a Conversational Design Lead, you would collaborate with other designers, researchers, technologists, and business stakeholders to craft meaningful experiences for our customers through thoughtful voice and messaging strategies. The ideal candidate will have voice interaction and information design skills, an understanding of user-centered design, and a passion for designing digital products.

  • Provide strategic leadership through influence, judgment, communication, and collaboration to drive design decisions
  • Collaborate closely with team members to craft world-class user experiences across multi-modal products and platforms
  • Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to solve problems effectively
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative design activities with stakeholders and users
  • Collaborate with teammates to design and conduct stakeholder and user research; capture problem definitions in a variety of forms and models, including personas, scenarios, and requirements
  • Craft conversational designs for voice-enabled and messaging interfaces, advocating usability and user-centered design principles
  • Create design deliverables to communicate your work including dialog and user flows, sketches, prototypes, wireframes, and specifications
  • Measure and analyze user experience research and testing to validate designs, get user feedback, and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Work with product owners and key stakeholders to brainstorm and identify opportunities, executing them as a flawless part of the overall user experience

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience creating voice-operated or conversational user interfaces and/or multi-modal digital products
  • Formal degree or training in HCI, Product Design, Interaction Design, Linguistics, or related
  • Strong portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in user experience design, creativity, and depth of thought
  • Experience incorporating research into the design process
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in common design tools like Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in HCI, Linguistics, or related field
  • Fluency in one or more non-English languages
  • Prototyping experience (software and/or hardware development experience a plus)
