We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team in Wichita The Controls Engineer will p rovides support and troubleshooting of systems, sub systems pertaining to the electrical, electronics, software functionality of vehicle. Implement and validate software updates for ECU,. Document all the investigated repair issues / fault codes at testing stations, QAA (Quality Assurance Activity), and Repair into a troubleshooting log. Participate in coordinating resources needed for repair activities. Troubleshoot testing issues as required. F eedback issues / resolutions found to drive corrective actions and be r esponsible to Deliver the Key Performance Indicators

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and troubleshooting of systems, sub systems pertaining to the electrical, electronics, software functionality of vehicle.
  • Implement and validate software updates for ECU
  • Document all the investigated repair issues / fault codes at testing stations, QAA (Quality Assurance Activity), and Repair into a troubleshooting log
  • Participate in coordinating resources needed for repair activities
  • Troubleshoot testing issues as required
  • Feedback issues / resolutions found to drive corrective actions
  • Responsible to Deliver the Key Performance Indicators
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) Change Management with Product Design Engineering.
  • Evaluate worker productivity and recommend improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.
  • Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation. Ensure compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
  • Resolve technical problems and lead improvement.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of experience working in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Demonstrated ability to lead small project teams in continuous improvement (up to 10 people).
Experience leading people - either directly, indirectly or by way of project teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively across various groups and levels of management
Process-oriented background with ability to understand business strategy needs and address issues in a logical and systematic manner
2 years of experience in Lean manufacturing environment
(Preferred) Working knowledge of Proplanner and/or TeamCenter Vis-Mockup

Desired candidate profile:

Should have sound knowledge of Electrical components, Electronics hardware, Software used in the equipment (vehicle)
Should be able to understand the functionality and application engineering of the hardware intended to be used or used in the equipment
Familiarity with important Electronic Components & Devices in the Vehicle like microprocessor, microcontroller, control modules, infotainment and other accessories like radio, GPS , antenna etc.
Should have good understanding of the testing and validation requirements of the components and sub systems.
Should have worked in a collaborative environment with the manufacturing, supplier quality engineering teams & product validation& testing teams.
Good awareness and understanding of the software applications is an added advantage.
Strong project documentation skills and communication skills required.
Experience with EOL/tester suppliers (Titan and/or Actemium Preferable)
