Job Description

Maine Control Systems Supervisor is responsible for statewide operationalcontrol systems, which includes various PLC's, HMI pump controllers,instrumentation, SCADA, SCADA process alarming, and programming. The ControlSystem Supervisor ensures that all electrical hardware, which includeselectrical power distribution, monitoring and alarming devices, follow all OSHAand NFPA-70E safety guidelines.

The Control Systems Supervisor must possess a generalunderstanding of water and wastewater treatment, process control, database andreporting systems, computer systems and state and federal regulatoryguidelines.

TheControl System Supervisor manages all control system capital projects whichinclude design of various types of control systems to include pump control,process monitoring, SCADA networks, electrical power systems, communicationsnetworks, and radio systems following FCC guidelines, and all other componentsrelated to water and waste water systems. This includes planning, design andas-builds, budgeting, and working with Service Delivery, Engineering and thirdparty consultants on water treatment, pumping and tank upgrades.

Other duties include training Service Delivery personnel with theoperation of all control systems, monitoring equipment, process instruments,and SCADA devices. Supportsthe Engineering group and helps with the design of new facilities andfabrication or retrofit of existing facilities upgrades or modifications.Provides logistical and technical support for the startup of new or seasonalfacilities. Performs non-rate revenue duties, including on-demand and routinesupport to contract operations. Collaborates and meets regularly with ITDepartment members to review respective departmental issues, goals andprogress. Ability to communicate with local leaders and assess potential offhour's emergency response needs and respond physically or remotely as mutuallyagreed.

Requiresproficiency in FCC regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, theOSHA Electrical Safety Standards and the Nation Fire Protection Agency NFPA 70EElectrical Safety in the workplace. Adheres to all OSHA and NFPA-70E safetyguidelines.

SubjectMatter Expert in Hach WIMS software and provides support to Service Deliveryand Water Quality to improve use of WIMS and troubleshoot issues.

Provides emergency response and routine support for controlsystems failures throughout Company.

Performsother duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronics or 2 Year Trade School Certificate; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.
• Extensive knowledge of company SCADA systems and architecture.
• Must have a minimum of ten years' experience in Control System Services or similar position. 
• Must qualify for respirator use.
