Manage a regional team of Legal Services Contract Analysts to manage standard contracting for the North America region. Implement process improvement measures, structure, guidance, and strategy for regional (North America) Legal Services team. Represent the Legal Services team to Regional Legal colleagues and serve as a liaison between Legal Services and its clientele in the region, as well as to other Regional Legal Services Leads. Work under the direction of the Global Head of Legal Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Regional Lead - North America for standard contracting for the Legal Services team.
  • Develop and drive regionally consistent and effective contracting processes.
  • Provide substantive guidance, advice, and training on contract negotiation and drafting, and process implementation and improvement to Legal Services Contract Analysts, as necessary, to ensure regional consistency.
  • Supervise Legal Services Contracts Analyst(s) for the region.
  • Actively contribute and participate in global process improvement measures
  • Collaborate effectively with the global legal and legal services team
  • Work with the global legal services team to share and implement contracting best practices globally.
  • Regularly liaise and align with other Legal Services Regional Leads, as well as regional Business Compliance & Risk and Legal Partner clientele.
  • Draft and negotiate standard contracts (such as confidentiality agreements, master service agreements, labor hire, consultancy/services agreements - including master agreements - speaker agreements, agreements with healthcare providers, standard intercompany data transfer agreements).
  • Develop & maintain high quality consistent templates for standard agreements.
  • Develop training content for Legal Services team members to include any applicable regulations, corporate policies.
  • Deliver training to Legal Services team members and applicable client groups.
  • Develop and maintain content for FAQs on standard agreement templates and processes.
  • Respond to queries from clients regarding Legal Services and certain Business Integrity & Risk topics and issues.
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for drafting and negotiation of standard agreements, including use of company's contract lifecycle management system.
  • Act as the SME/SMA for standard contracting and develop and implement process improvement measures, as applicable.
  • Lead multiple initiatives, manage competing priorities and drive them to fruition
  • Problems faced are difficult and often complex, requiring analysis of issues and consideration of other job areas

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree of law/JD or international equivalent. (LL.M a plus)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience leading and managing a contracts team, or equivalent.
  • Pharmaceutical or biotech experience a plus.
  • International experience a plus.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience drafting and negotiating confidentiality agreements, Master Services Agreements, labor hire agreements, IT/ITES agreements, Health Care Provider Agreements, Services Agreements; various administrative tasks commonly found in legal department administration
  • Experience in working with processes and methodologies
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency (written and spoken) of French and/or Mandarin, a plus
