Since 1918, Holman Manufacturing and Distribution (formerly known as Auto Truck Group) takes new trucks and make them into tools. We have expanded into 20 locations and more than 950 employees specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of truck equipment. From custom trucks to entire fleets, our customers include railroad, utilities, and government agencies.

Holman has an outstanding opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Lead in our Kansas City, MO location.

Shift: 6AM-2:30PM Monday-Friday; hours can vary sometimes. Travel required.

Pay: $65,000+ depending on experience.

Overview:

The Continuous Improvement Lead is in charge of a variety of tasks, such as developing and implementing continuous improvement projects throughout the organization. Working with senior management to evaluate current procedures, identifying significant financial and process improvement opportunities, managing, coaching, and assisting a group of continuous improvement champions to facilitate process improvement initiatives across various teams, and tracking the outcomes of improvements made.

Job Description

  • Mentor and coach a team of continuous improvement champions drawn from all areas.
  • Teach team members and leaders how to use tools and techniques for continuous improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement champions in organizing high-impact Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping across all functional domains.
  • Implement KPIs and a governance structure to make sure the organization is assessing impact and doing so in a way that is effective and in line with its strategy.
  • Align business needs with process improvement strategies.
  • Create a plan for implementing analytical methods across the organization to advance the contribution of the continuous improvement program.
  • Identify the business's best practice implementations and other benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with the leadership in choosing, prioritizing, and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Take part in the creation of both short- and long-term plans.
  • Resolves unique and complicated issues that have a significant effect on the company.
  • Be a change agent to promote engagement in ongoing development across multiple themes.
  • Evaluate current procedures and suggest improvements based on metrics, data, and observations.
  • Assist in carrying out efforts for continuous improvements geared toward process and financial gains.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field required.
  • Green Belt Six Sigma certified preferred.
  • Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus.
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Change Management knowledge preferred.
  • Facilitation experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to collect and interpret feedback/information to construct emerging solutions.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, discover trends and create insights.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and initiatives, aligning to the business' pace
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel.
  • Wide variety of communication skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to create and sustain relationships and interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills required (both verbally and written).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with a remote project team.
  • Proven ability to act with sound integrity, tact, and discretion.
