Summary of Position

The Conduct/Operations Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of Student Life Operations and is responsible for adjudicating nonacademic conduct as well as assisting in day-to-day Student Life Operations. They will serve as a conduct coordinator for informal and formal processes, including agreed resolution meetings and administrative hearings. Creates, implements, and evaluates conflict resolution options. This position receives, investigates, and reaches decisions on reports of alleged nonacademic misconduct filed by students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. The coordinator serves a critical role in the daily operations within the division by organizing, streamlining, and assisting in various processes across multiple departments with the aim to deliver superior student experience to Allegheny College students. Some of these processes include systems administration of Maxient, development and coordination of housing selection, manages the safe room program, managing and creation of operational reports and finding, and contributing to the vibrant environment of student life. This is a fulltime live-in position and that will serve as part of the First Responder on Call rotation.

As Conduct/Operations Coordinator, you will:

  • Processes and adjudicates nonacademic conduct violations
  • Meets with students to address behavior that conflicts with institutional policies and expectations by providing both accountability and support to foster students' ethical development, resilience, and overall well-being.
  • Resolves conduct matters, including explaining students' opportunities in each process, determining responsibility, providing ongoing feedback to students regarding educational assignments, and connecting students to relevant resources.
  • Develop, execute, and track the timely completion of sanctions imposed upon students, recognized student organization, and student groups found to have violated Allegheny College's policies
  • Works to support the creation and Director in developing, launching, and evaluating new and ongoing conflict resolution options as alternative resolutions for incidents that were reported.
  • Work with Director of Student Life Operations in building and running the housing selection process
  • Assist in running Student Life operations including but not limited to systems administration of Maxient, managing the safe room program, building reports and analyzation of data, communicate with campus partners, complete work orders, and direct student staff
  • Participate in the implementation of student staff training including resident advisors, gator express drivers and front desk workers.
  • When on-call duties are needed, will manage and develop a process for the situation with all moving parts and pieces
  • Processes and coordinates maintenance of confidential records and trains all applicable constituents on student conduct policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain the status of safe rooms
  • Member of the on-call staff

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Educational background in student affairs, higher education administration, social work, counseling, or other related field
  • Relevant knowledge areas include, but are not limited to: hazing, conflict resolution and alternative resolution, due process and fundamental fairness, higher education law, diversity and inclusion, student welfare, safety and security, community building,
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment while working independently
  • A proven track record of working in Higher Education or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation/presentation
  • Track Record of achieving extraordinary results
  • Strategic thinking with operational excellence
  • Exceptional ability to influence and build strong relationships
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality with all students academic and nonacademic records.

YOUR COMPENSATION

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

The expected minimum salary range for this position is $35,586 annually.
