Job Summary

Vertiv is hiring a Compliance Technician in Lorain, Ohio to assist with the Product Development cycle. This position is required to conduct testing critical to Agency compliance, particularly Underwriters Laboratories. Many of the other tests are Industry required and outlined by the Telecom industry. These tests could be electrical, mechanical or environmental. The Compliance Technician must development knowledge of both Outside Plant and Power products. This requires both mechanical and electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• UL (Underwriter Laboratories) Testing - candidate must be able to follow Test Plans developed by the Compliance Engineer. This includes setting-up the equipment under test, the required monitoring equipment that will be used to collect the data and format the data as defined by the Compliance Engineer. They will also be required to provide possible solutions when the equipment fails the test and implement any required changes. The candidate must get certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) to comply with the Data Acquisition Program (DAP).
• Outside Plant (OSP) Testing - candidate must be able to read, understand and follow-through with testing described in (Telcordia) documents. This testing includes Solar Testing, Battery Outgas Testing and Impact testing, plus others. Failure of these tests may require the use of machining equipment to form various air flow diverters or panels.
• EVALUATION Testing - set-up and conduct testing required by Engineering, Procurement and Product Line Managers. These can be either electrical or mechanical types of test. This include, Paint Evaluations, UV testing, etc.
• General lab duties - clean-up, maintain equipment for calibration, track and order chemicals used in the lab.
• Write test reports based on data collected.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Electronics and/or 3-5 years' of equivalent experience; Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
• Knowledge and use electronic test equipment is a plus.
• Experience with following Test Plans and writing reports based on test results.
