We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Communications Representative in the Peoria, Illinois area.

As a communications representative, you'll work directly with leaders to build and execute creative communication plans and strategies; support website strategy, design, and content management; create compelling visual communications and presentations; plan and execute divisional events and more.

What you will do:

  • Build and execute creative internal and external communication strategies for Caterpillar's Product Support and Logistics community.
  • Own, develop, and manage several communication vehicles including electronic newsletters, division website, and SharePoint sites, videos, PowerPoint presentations, and more.
  • Assist with high-profile initiatives and engage with business partners.
  • Leverage and embrace technology to find new and creative ways to reach key audiences. Develop innovative processes/methods to best use resources or technology to deliver quality work.
  • Provide communications support for varying levels of leadership, including Group President/CFO, Divisional VP, Directors, and more.
  • Ability to function in a team environment on various project teams aimed at providing strategic solutions to the business.

What you will have:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field.

3 or more years of communications-related experience.

Advanced experience in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.

Demonstrated skills in graphic design and visual communications.

Experience editing videos-adding graphics, sound, transitions, etc.

Additional Skills:

Strong written communication and strategic thinking skills.
Understanding of change management principles with the ability to influence the adoption of strategic initiatives through effective communication.
Ability to simplify information for communication to a broad, international audience.
Strong project management, teamwork, and creative thinking skills.
Sense of urgency, ability to quickly prioritize, and excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience in Adobe CC applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, etc.

  • Location: Peoria, IL preferred; Chicago, IL considered - must be willing to travel to Peoria area frequently.
  • This position does not offer relocation.
  • This position requires 10% or less travel.
