JOB SUMMARY

Conducts analyses of the commercial contracts, employing a complete understanding of commercial needs and available alternatives. The Commercial Analyst I analyzes asset portfolios, contributes to the processing of new and existing deals to increase contract margin, and maintains databases.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Identifies commercial deals that are outside market conditions and provides recommendations.
  • Monitors contract expirations and executes re-contracting strategy based on commercial direction.
  • Analyzes existing commercial deals to ensure portfolio is optimized and contractual terms being followed
  • Provides reports and analysis to bring visibility to the contract portfolio;provide recommendations based on analysis.
  • Drafts and manages contracts throughout the life cycle of the commercial agreements for gathering and processing (G&P) and natural gas liquids (NGL) teams
  • Reviews accounting settlement statements for accuracy and completeness
  • Proactively communicates with key stakeholders around contract updates
  • Improves and maintains the quality and integrity of contract templates and databases
  • Ensures contracts are compliant with internal and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies
  • Embraces continuous improvement, while motivating the team
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or equivalent work experience
  • No minimum years of related experience is required although employees typically have 0-2 years; oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and in commercial, accounting, scheduling, and/or operations
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to influence at a local level and across a broad organization
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

SPECIAL DEMANDS
  • This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machine or file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
