Overview

SUMMARY

Bering Straits Technical Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Clerk II for Contract #W912D0-18-008/ Ft. Wainwright, AK. The Clerk II provides clerical support to Management, including Department Leads. Clerks will receive, record, and distribute work orders to the appropriate departments needed to meet the requirements of the Base Maintenance Contract and the installation support requirements.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains facility files by contract requirements in a neat, orderly, and timely manner.
  • Receives, inputs, and forwards all service orders to the appropriate shop.
  • Records information, such as name, address, item to be repaired, or service to be rendered (Excel Spreadsheet).
  • Prepares work orders and dispatches trouble calls to appropriate personnel within allotted time frame.
  • Maintains logs and records containing service calls and work control (Excel Spreadsheet).
  • Provide weekly service order verification report as requested by Management (Excel Spreadsheet).
  • Supports the project Safety plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to trades or skills.
  • This position may be designated as Mission Critical as required by the company to meet contact requirements.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES (Only to be performed when Clerk IV is out)
  • Provides back up for the Clerk IV
    • Enters time/status' into GFEB's.
    • Provides reports as needed.
    • Completes daily end of day reports (GFEB's).
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and deemed insurable under company insurance policy
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Must have working knowledge of computers and computer software (Microsoft, excel, ect)
  • Ability to answer multi lined phones
  • Maintain neat and orderly/organize files
  • Ability to receive written and/or verbal instructions and ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Preferred
  • Associate degree in business-related field.
  • Or four (4) years' experience in lieu of Associate degree.
  • Cost point experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
