Southern Industrial is looking for a Civil Superintendent to work out of our Raleigh, NC office on projects in the Raleigh/Durham areal. This job is full time & does offer per diem if you are over 60 miles from the site. It does include a company vehicle.
Supervises and coordinates field activities of Foreman and workers engaged in civil construction work. Strong working knowledge of excavations and heavy concrete construction including engineered and field fabricated formwork installation, rebar installation, concrete placement and concrete finishing.
Establish and adjusts work sequences to meet civil construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
Interpret civil specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Plan and direct the civil work activities.
Directs civil personnel to achieve completion of the project and schedules.
Follow set procedures and standards.
Perform frequent safety inspections of work area, equipment, tools, and employees in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC's safety program.
Analyze situations, identify forecast concerns, evaluate, and recommend options.
Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.
Support project and construction management with planning and executing appropriate course of action.
Adhere to and support company Health and Safety & Environmental Policies.
Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
Ability to communicate effectively with crews and clients.
Regular attendance is required.
Significant travel required.
Performs other duties as required.
Civil Journey level minimum of 5+ years of experience. 3+ years of supervisory experience.
