A leader responsible for providing supervisory needs for the Child Life Department as it pertains to daily operations in relation to clinical assignments and managing Child Life coverage throughout the organization. The Child Life Supervisor will also maintain clinical competency to support the needs of pediatric patients as part of the overall clinical coverage strategy. In addition to clinical care, the Child Life Supervisor is expected to monitor and manage the proficiency of the Child Life team; offering clinical expertise, guidance, and staff development. In collaboration with the Patient and Family Centered Care Program Coordinator, the Child Life Supervisor will be involved in continuous quality improvement, customer service, resource and financial management, efficient and effective system processes and professional development.
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Child Life or Child Development related field preferred. Completion of minimum of 480 hour Child Life Internship required.
Experience: Must have 3 years inpatient experience as a Child Life Specialist. Prefer 2 years demonstrated leadership experience.
Licensure: Child Life Professional Certification. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50lbs. May be exposed to noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
