Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:Responsible for providing quality childcare by planning, developing and implementing a developmental program for children.
Job Duties:Plan and implement a developmental program for children using a DAP curriculum. Evaluate and maintain records regarding each child's development. Utilize appropriate direct and indirect guidance strategies to guide behavior. Meets the individual emotional, physical, social, safety, and health needs of children in care through proactive planning, active engagements and by closely supervising their routines. Maintain the classroom and playground environments by changing play areas bi-monthly, cleaning toys and equipment based on class and licensing schedule, following Child Development Center guidelines for mitigating health risks, and by checking for hazards and child health concerns daily. Model and mentor university lab students on developmentally appropriate classroom practices. Maintain verbal and written communication with parents. Assist parents and other teachers in meeting the children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills. Maintain a respectful, supportive, and professional demeanor. Administer first aid and compassionate care to children as needed. Complete required training and education hours. Maintain required credentials.
Applicants will be required to bring a child appropriate classroom 10-15 minute activity and implement it in a classroom. They will also be expected to engage children in 5-10 minute physical activity.
CDC staff are given priority ranking on the enrollment waitlist and once enrolled, staff receive a 20% discount on childcare tuition.
