The NNICU is a 12 bed intermediate care unit that specializes in caring for patients with strokes, brain or spine surgery, or other conditions involving the brain or nervous system. Our team includes nurses, CNA's, and HUC's who work closely together to provide the best care experience for our patients. CNA's provide direct care and support to patients who need help with activities of daily living, as well as assist nurses with monitoring vital signs, blood glucose levels, and intake/output. HUC's serve as the center of communication for the unit, provide clerical support to patient flow, and help maintain patient records.
Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient's home.
Position Compensation Range: $13.12 - $20.34 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: No experience required. Relevant experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified Nursing Assistant certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing or Student nurses who have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
