As a Levy Catering Manager, you will be responsible for leading your team at the Iowa State Athletics Sports Performance Center in executing The Levy Difference with respect to all catering operations, human resources and financials. From hiring, training and developing team members to ensuring that all assigned costs are met and quality show standards are maintained at all times, you will be representing Levy and communicating our philosophies and culture to all that you come in contact with.

Operations

  • Ensures all catering services exceed guest expectations
  • Communicates client's needs to appropriate internal parties through timely and detailed written and verbal communications to ensure full understanding and compliance with client's expectation of services
  • Has location specific food and beverage knowledge
  • Initiates contact with dietitian to ensure full understanding of their food and beverage selections in advance of meal service dates
  • Meticulously communicates with dietitian and coaching staff's meal requests to culinary in timely manner
  • Has meticulous attention to detail
  • Holds team accountable to deliver second-to-none guest service at all events, through consistently delivering Heartfelt Hospitality to each guest that comes through our door
  • Ensures show quality standards are maintained at all times
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profit group members and Levy team members
  • Regularly obtains feedback from client and guests to continually improve operations
  • Supports and communicates Company initiatives
  • Respond to and assist in any departmental guest service issues
  • Executes all menus, promotions and programs as outlined by the and Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef accordance with Levy standards

Controls
  • Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable Levy systems (Purchasing Systems, Point-of-sale, WFM, eReserve and more)
  • Achieves all assigned daily sales and cost goals as a means of achieving overall budget goals
  • Employs good safety and sanitation practices as outlined by Levy's core standards
  • Executes required daily reporting in a timely manner
  • Completes required department reports and compiles information at month end closing
  • Ensures team members adhere to Levy Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook
  • Prepares account forecasts and analysis of group sales in accordance with Levy Core Signature Guidelines
  • Assures the complete billing for client services and receipt of payments in accordance with Levy standards and location practices

Team
  • Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
  • Conducts regular meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members
  • Interviews, hires, trains and develops team members according to Levy guidelines
  • Displays a positive attitude towards all hourly and management team members

Job Requirements
  • Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and team members by speaking, writing and comprehending English
  • English reading, writing, math and computer skills required
  • Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products
  • Stamina to work 60 hours or more per week
  • Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts
  • Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains
  • Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift
  • Ability to use office equipment, including computer systems
  • Ability to talk and hear to conduct phone correspondence
  • Close vision and focus capabilities to view computer screen and company documents
  • Ability to acquire and maintain all certifications associated with operating company vehicles, including but not limited to: passing DOT physical examination, possession of valid driver's license
