Job Description
The Category Development Manager is responsible for applying Category Management principles internally and externally with assigned retailers. This role will proactively analyze and translate category, shopper, and consumer data into insights, strategies, tactics, and compelling selling stories that drive category and Galderma sales and profit.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a key business advisor and thought leader to assigned retailers and internal team, providing actionable insights that drive strategy creation
  • Lead in the development of Total US reporting to track trends and achievement of business objectives by collaborating with cross-functional teams including Sales, Insights, Analytics, Shopper and Trade Marketing
  • Analyze data from multiple data sources including POS, panel, and market research studies to proactively identify trends, opportunities, and gaps for assigned retailers
  • Analyze and identify actionable strategies and tactics across Product, Placement, Promotion and Pricing for assigned accounts with the ability to articulately present to our internal team and retailers
  • Co-lead priority SKU identification and execution within Food channel
  • Create impactful selling stories that take into consideration the retailer's strategies and its shoppers
  • Identify research opportunities, specific to your customer's business and assist in consumer research projects
  • Lead on expertise and implementation of Category Growth Driver platform
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University in Business or a related field, required
  • Five or more years of combined experience in sales management, corporate national accounts, sales planning, category management and/or marketing areas of a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry
  • Previous experience in Food channel highly preferred
  • Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Syndicated POS data, and Panel data (Numerator data preferred)
  • Proficiency in JDA preferred
  • Must be able to travel +20% of time as necessary
