How you can make a bigger difference:

The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. The program provides a supervised, trauma informed therapeutic environment.

The Westchester Avenue Community Residence (Bronx, NY) provides family-oriented and supportive Child and Teen Services to boys and girls, ages of 15-18 years' old who are struggling with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, emotional crises, mental health, and behavioral issues. Under their individualized service plans, youth receive comprehensive clinical treatment and education, and are able to develop independent living skills and adaptive coping strategies for managing of their emotional and behavioral issues in order transition back into their home communities.

The Case Associate works with children and adolescents in the community residence and is responsible for skill building related to the youth's individual service and treatment plans, and serving as a positive role model while providing therapeutic support to both the youth and the family, trauma informed care and life skills.


  • Developing and enhancing the youth's skills around their personal hygiene, social guidance, use of leisure time, food planning and preparation
  • Develop, supervise and implement therapeutic recreational program; Accompany and supervise youth on recreational activities while promoting socialization and skill building
  • Partner with Case Manager, Clinician, and Team Leader around creating and implementing youth safety plans and ICMPs
  • May be called upon to work one-on-one with youth displaying significant stress, or assist with crisis management related to the safety and care of the clients, including managing environmental issues
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary therapeutic team by implementing culturally affirming and trauma informed interventions and skill building as outlined in treatment and service planning; Partner with case manager and other program staff to support families, schools, healthcare providers, outpatient mental health providers, criminal justice, and other community agencies in order to provide appropriate care and supervision of youth; Perform these services in the community residence, family/resource's home, community and via telehealth (when applicable)
  • Assist in orienting families/resources of the youth to the services provided by and in collaboration with the program
  • Additional duties as assigned


Qualifications :

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • A High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A valid, clean Driver's License is required for this role
  • Availability to work evenings and weekend shifts as part of the enhanced model to provide additional support and supervision during peak hours; The ability to travel and navigate the community in order to provide services where the youth and family will benefit most from the services delivered
