We are seeking applications for an exciting opportunity to contribute to Wood Consulting's Carbon Advisory team assisting our energy sector, mining and life sciences clients achieve their climate change ambitions by supporting the key activities to manage climate related risks and opportunities. This Consultant role would suit a highly motivated individual with a solid foundation of analytical and communication skills, and the initiative to rise to a challenge. The breadth of work across Wood will provide you with an opportunity to work within a wide range of studies and clients alongside multi-disciplinary teams of various sizes, expanding your experience and providing you with the possibility to develop specialist expertise.

The successful candidate will be, among other tasks, responsible for performing comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions inventories and baselines, performing cradle-to-grave lifecycle analysis and modelling and helping to identify opportunities to decrease the carbon impact of projects and operating facilities. The clients and projects we work with range across the globe and at varying scales. RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of the consulting team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Data interpretation and analysis
  • Development and updating methodologies and tools for quantifying greenhouse gas emissions
  • Assisting clients to map energy and fuel usage and associated carbon equivalent emissions
  • Using Circular Carbon Economy principles to develop a multi-factor approach to meet wider sustainable development objectives
  • Calculating Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions and compiling emissions inventories for equipment, units, facilities, and companies
  • Supporting colleagues to identify and screen carbon reduction opportunities - feedstock, fuels, power sources, process & applicable technologies
  • Preparation of technical study reports / presentations and associated deliverables
  • Supporting the preparation of technical / commercial proposals


QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Skills:
  • University Degree in Process Engineering, Engineering Science, or technical Environmental/ Sustainable Development-related subject
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem
  • Awareness of the business environment, sector markets and on-going innovation in technology and research in climate-related subjects and issues
  • A strong communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High-quality report writing and presentation skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Eager to learn and to share learning with others
  • Good at working in teams and flexible in thinking and in work methods
Desirable:
  • Some work experience exposure to energy sector or extractive industries
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Member or Associate Member of an internationally recognized Professional body
  • Experience of compiling, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets
  • Experience in presenting and formulating attention grabbing reports and presentation material
  • Experience in Life Cycle Assessment
