American Battery Solutions is hiring a 12-week CAD Design Intern this summer in Lake Orion, Michigan.

Job Summary:

The Engineering CAD Design Intern is engaged in the development of mechanical designs to support Battery pack design. This individual interfaces with ABS prototype and production engineers and designers

Responsibilities:

• Organize CAD files and off the shelf component libraries.
• Contribute in design review meetings and present designs in open forum.
• Learn Solidworks CAD program and PDM.
• Make print packages for release of projects.
• Complete a 12-week project presentation at the end of internship.
• Report the progress of tasks on a regular basis.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations.
• Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

• Undergraduate/graduate student working towards a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on Design / CAD or other relevant degree.
• Working knowledge of Solidworks CAD program and PDM is preferred.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA required to enter the program.
• Must be actively enrolled in school.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.

• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about in industrial environments, and on uneven terrain.
• Works in a temperature-controlled office environment
