Spartan Tool is seeking a highly experienced Purchasing Manager to join our operations team. This person will need to effectively communicate with the product suppliers to actively buy quality product for the company. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with MRP system on a daily basis and constantly purchasing components and parts for a fast paced assembly operation. Responsibilities will include:

• Expediting product as needed to suppliers or customers
• Review Expedites daily and follow up with those suppliers we have not heard from
• Order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved.
• Follow up on Past due purchase orders
• Communicate with production employees regarding urgent items.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, obtain appropriate approval, and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
• Enter purchase orders in a timely fashion

Job Requirements

• 1 to 3 years minimum experience buying parts and components in a large-scale mechanical manufacturing environment
• Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner
• Ability to work within definitive scheduling deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level use of the entire MS Office platform - word, excel, outlook, etc.
