Braun Intertec is seeking a Business Unit Leader to manage and lead our Midwest offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the overall performance of the Business Unit's operational, client and technical goals, for personnel that report in through the Engineering and Testing and Drilling divisions.
  • Accountable for providing direction, management and support for each of the Business Unit Managers (BUM's) within your Unit.
  • Accountable for providing leadership to your BUM's to assist in their decision making regarding items that apply to all personnel within the office they are leading (e.g. facilities, office engagement, local marketing, etc.).
  • Continually monitors financial performance of the Business Unit by analyzing current and future Unit activities, costs, efficiency of operations, etc. and provides feedback to management on a regular basis.
  • Drive Braun Intertec values and corporate culture as the Employer of Choice in collaboration with BUMs
  • Objectively evaluating employee performance and establishing and clarifying goals for staff. These goals must contain components of improving or enhancing technical or project management skills, and client service skill development.
  • Responsible for managing the appropriate personnel mix to achieve your Unit goals (cross-utilization, recruiting, hiring, firing).
  • Works with your BUM's, adjacent geographic Business Unit Leaders, and marketing staff, to set direction for client-related pursuits and marketing goals.
  • Directs client contracting in the Unit with respect to the Braun Intertec's Authority Grant Policy.
  • Monitors the performance of your BUM's as they relate to financial performance of your Unit and client growth/retention.
  • Encourages and supports a work environment that allows for cross-functional, multi-discipline work teams in the interest of being the employer of choice and the consultant of choice.


Required Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the Business community.
  • Proven ability to manage success and conflict amongst teams and individual personnel, with the intent of supporting Braun Intertec's best interests.
  • Understanding Braun Intertec's internal systems and practices, and ability to train, manage and adhere to them.
  • Proven ability to lead small or large groups effectively through a service/servant leadership style.
  • Ability to lead by example through Braun Intertec's core values: Safety, Service, Opportunity, Ownership, and Recognition.


Required Experience:
  • One or more years of experience managing a cross-functional office or large team.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring.
