ANNUAL ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $48,000.00 - 59,000.00 (Salaries are paid biweekly)

Job Summary

The City of Fort Collins is looking for a Business Support III, who will provide quality administrative support and assistance to the Real Estate team. Please read on!

The Real Estate Services division plays an important part in supporting other City departments during their acquisition, leasing, sale, and property management of all types of real estate. These services are an important aspect of local government because real estate support is essential to nearly all city projects, including property development, affordable housing, facilities, parks, trails, sidewalks, natural areas, art in public places, streets, and utilities. The Business Support III, Real Estate position assesses title work, handles money, processes work orders and payments, reviews real estate documents, performs record keeping, and interacts with city employees and residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
  • Provides responsive customer service to internal and external customers as the entry point for departmental inquiries
  • Coordinates, administers, and monitors progress of department, division, and/or City processes, programs or projects
  • May compose and perform detailed editing of memos, letters, correspondences, documents, and reports
  • Coordinates distribution of information, including DocuSign signatures, and provides assistance to employees, management and/or the general public
  • May coordinate and schedule special events, department meetings, travel schedules and reservations
  • Coordinates and oversees office functions and standard operating procedures
  • Develops, compiles, and maintains files, records, reports, spreadsheets, and databases as requested
  • Purchases and monitors consumption of office supplies and inventory
  • Coordinates and administers special projects as assigned
  • Conducts research, compiles and prepares records or reports
  • Performs technical work associated with various business, financial, or budget processes within the department
  • Acts as liaison to other City offices
  • May provide administrative support to a board or commissions, internal committees, and City Council ad-hoc committees including agendas and minutes, which may include some regular evening meetings
  • May conduct financial transactions, such as accounts payable, invoicing, cash reconciliation, journal entries, claims processing or purchase requisitions

  • Basic knowledge of accounting and financial concepts, purchasing, budget, and finance management
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with citizens, customers, other agencies, City departments, and staff
  • Ability to take minutes as part of appointed Boards or informal internal committees or boards as assigned, including posting agendas and notices, meeting logistics, meeting minutes, and general group communications

Required Education

Minimum/PreferredEducation LevelMinimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Preferred College-level or technical course work in business, finance, marketing, communications, public relations, or office management

  • Minimum five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
