Business Engineering (BE) is a highly technical team that helps partners grow their business using Meta's family of apps. This role in BE is an opportunity to build the future of the metaverse by working with strategic partners, including developers, creators, and the world's most influential companies. The goal for the Reality Labs (RL) Platform team is to accelerate the adoption of Meta's Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) products by building and deploying solutions that help scale the metaverse ecosystem. As a Business Engineer, you will work closely with Meta's Reality Labs (RL) and other engineering teams on product features, developer tools, and 3rd-party integrations. You will have an opportunity to build and manage strong technical relationships with key partners. The ideal candidate will combine excellent technical, product, and business skills to make our partners successful.

Business Engineer, Metaverse Responsibilities:

  • Be a subject matter expert in various parts of the AR/VR infrastructure stack, including all metaverse products and the underlying frameworks. Leverage this expertise in scoping, designing, and building new solutions. Mentor and share knowledge with peers, creating a positive atmosphere amongst the team
  • Collaborate with external partners, internal Engineering and Product partners within Meta teams. Identify and surface insights using metrics on product usage to increase adoption and provide new solutions that address the needs of our partners
  • Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during trials and deployments, in real-time cooperation with partners' engineering and operations teams. Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues. Work with internal technical teams on resolving those issues
  • Use a broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and independently resolve complex technical and business needs
  • Help scale programs by contributing new features, bug fixes, documentation and other educational materials
  • Regarded as a highly effective communicator. Documents and shares learnings across peers, cross functional teams, clients and partners. Effectively lobbies and secures resources for new projects, products, features, and/or systems
  • Plays a critical role in helping to set the direction and goals for the team, in terms of project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency
  • Actively involved in interviewing, onboarding, and developing more individual contributors

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Background working on real-time gameplay mechanics or games systems
  • Knowledge of C# or C++
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years professional experience as an engineer or in a technical game design role
  • Experience shipping products requiring stringent runtime performance practices, such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in highly collaborative environments
  • Knowledge of modern GPU pipelines and 3D rendering architectures
  • Experience shipping at least one game using Unity, Unreal, or other leading game engine
  • Involved in developing immersive VR games or experiences
