What You Will Be Doing The Sales Representative is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. This role will foster these relationships by reaching out to existing/past customers, attending industry conferences and visiting large school districts in order to generate leads, creating a
referral network within the scientific community, partnering with industry experts to promote our product on learning platforms, and connecting with buying groups and cooperative platforms for research institutions, schools, and universities. This role will also be responsible for implementing sales strategies, making product presentations, growing the contractor network, working with vendor facilities, and identifying market opportunities.

- Source new sales opportunities through inbound calls from potential customers and follow up on leads and research and qualify new leads
- Educate customers on product features, product options and services and make recommendations based on needs
- Increase revenue and profitability by reactivating relationships with past customers, strengthening relationships with existing customers, and establishing relationships with new customers
- Manage orders to ensure product is delivered in a timely manner, product meets quality control measures, and invoices are paid within payment terms
- Utilize CRM software to manage opportunity pipeline and document customer interactions
- Prepare reports for management, identifying sales activities, sales trends, and any/and all pertinent information
What You Need for this Position - Microscopy/Optics industry experience
- Experience working in an academic environment
- Bachelors degree, or Associates degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience in business development
- Minimum of 5 years of face-to-face and cold calling sales experience
- Ability to translate technical information into relevant stories for customers
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently
- Must be willing and able to travel, including air travel, up to 40%
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, pull, reach overhead and other duties required for setting up and working at trade shows
What's In It for You Base Salary: $50k - $75k, OTE $100k+
