About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for promoting the WEG brand and product range to Data Center, crypto mining, and chip manufacturing applications and to get WEG in the respective Approved Vendor List of relevant end users, EPCs, specifying engineers/consultants in the field. This role will work with sales, marketing, and engineering teams on product development specific to the industry requirements and develop custom products for client specific applications needs and local market requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand and communicate to internal stakeholders Data center general architecture & applications and correlate to WEG products and respective OEMs.
    • Hyperscale / enterprise/co-location/edge data center / micro data center
    • Government /healthcare/education/ energy &power / military / high-tech
    • Understand modularity and scalability of the design
    • Data center - Generations designs
  • Understand industry dynamics, decision-making process and decision makers on product specification and buying decisions.
  • Identify and map key players in the decision-making chain (Engineering Firm /Consultants /Owner & operators of data center and crypto sites / Developers & Integrators).
  • Map projects and investments pipeline and timelines (how do we find projects in early stages � like FEED in O&G).
  • Lead actions to get WEG in the relevant AVLs for mapped projects and key end users / operators.
  • Understand decision making power for motor and VFD �Approved Vendor List� definitions and inclusion. Positioning WEG as preferred supplier for industry is the ultimate goal.
  • Map OEMs (fans, pumps, heat exchangers, refrigeration, critical power, etc) that on AVL and/or are potential suppliers to mapped projects
  • Engage WEG field sales force to proactively call on relevant OEMs relative to mapped projects
  • Technology trends/technology shifts � understand how the industry requirements are changing and translate how it affects the utilization of our products (for example: immersion cooling).
  • Work with product management to develop industry specific product portfolio and marketing/promotional material.
  • Participate in related Trade shows and trade associations.
  • Provide training to WEG staff on industry (players, decision making process, project pipeline, technical requirements, trends, etc.).
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:
  • Bachelor�s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / training:
  • Knowledgeable of applications for WEG products in the targeted industries
  • Demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge of customer needs and market trends with respect to target industry.
  • Understands industry dynamics and decision-making process
  • Must have strong communications skills to effectively communicate with customers, sales reps, application engineers, and other inside support staff.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
