Overview

AmTrust Financial Services is currently seeking a Business Analyst (USR) to join the growing team.The primary function of the Business Analyst (USR) is to provide support to both internal and external partners (including training and coaching) and deliver required WC Unit Statistical Reports (USR) early and in compliance with bureau requirements relating to quality and correctness. Business Analysts are also responsible for administrative and project work, and for using time management to complete all assignments to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Authority:

This individual will report to the Manager of Bureau Reporting.

Team Work:

Everyone is to work together to accomplish the monthly goals. If you should complete the tasks that were assigned to you, the expectation is that you will offer assistance to others in order to complete all required USRs on or before the due dates.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

  1. Understand the entire cycle of the USR
  • What generates a need for the USR/why is it required?
  • What are the rules that apply to specific states, both NCCI and independent bureaus?
  • What are the requirements to complete/submit the USR?
  • What departments do we depend on for reporting, and who depends on our USR filings?
  • What do each of these departments do? (i.e. life cycle of a WC policy)
  • What are the consequences for incorrect or late filings?


  1. Understand the systems and Bureaus necessary to complete your tasks
  • Submit accepted USRs before or by the due date in the 19 th month
  • Develop a full understanding of the Pre-Edit Tool(NCCI)
  • Address the errors within the Pre-Edit Tool
  • Develop a full understanding of CDX/BEEP
  • Be familiar with and understand your bureau's website, including, but not limited to, searches, tools, and reports
  • Research to find where the problem is occurring, and know where to find/how to use your state stat plan, presentations, state pages, department manual, and other resources to find answers
  • Document any unusual situations and bring issues to management and/or bring up in team meetings
  • Be able to create, submit and correct first and subsequent reports
  • Familiarize yourself with ANAWC, ANA Claims, and ANA Reporting
  • Review and address items in the Data Manager Dashboard for timeliness
  • Keep current on audit corrections, both new audits and revisions - 500/month


  1. Understand department rules and requirements
  • Completely research, fill out, and address weekly and monthly spreadsheets, turning in weekly spreadsheets by 5pm on Friday and monthly by 5pm on the last business day of the month
  • Attend training sessions and apply their content
  • Read, understand, and follow department policies regarding time, PTO, and communication. If anything is unclear, bring it to management's attention


  1. Special Projects
  • Introduce projects as needed
  • Define/describe the issue
  • Complete projects by or prior to deadlines set forth by management
